New Pet

The daughter and I went to the CT Ag Fair yesterday to pick up our latest homestead friend- an 18.5 pound fawn-coloured bundle of puff called "Charile." Now Charlie isn't a dog (he'd be tiny), or even a cat (he'd be big)...he's a LAGAMORPH...ergo, he's IMMENSE!

To anyone hauling kids and livestock- buy the Radio Flyer ATV wagon. The price was steep ($130) but I use it for hauling my two year old AND our "stuff" EVERYWHERE. The beach, the park, to get a bunny (pet carrier AND kid AND handbag AND child's toys)...great investment/invention. Thanks to the husband for putting it together.

I will post pictures of our "little" fluff prince later...

As for our other bunny, Mr. Dorito, he will have to wait a few weeks for a "wife"...as you can tell, Charlie is a DUDE. Sorry Dorito buns- lovin' comin' soon!

Also, I will officially be opening my doors as a rabbit breeder in the fall. I will also be picking up some goats (nubians) for cheese making purposes as well as chickens for eggs...

I grew up next to a farm and the farmer didn't kill his livestock: They were outdoor companions. My father grew up on a working farm and killed the livestock in order to survive. Neither view is better or worse- only different. My rabbits, goats, and chickens are in the outdoor companion category. I name and love everything- it is my way.

Creation and Birth Anew in Summer!

Salutations! Welcome to the newitchesguild. A place for live journal interaction primarily for witches in New England, but welcoming anyone who follows a different path and beats his/her own drum!

Speaking of drumming, the summer is a great time to drum. Most people have their windows closed and their AC on...good cheap drum idea: Kids drum sets. Toy stores sell them everywhere. Yes, it's nice to make your own, to infuse it with your energy, but why not buy a kid's drum (their small, well made, portable!), annoint it (why not try altar oil- it's your audio altar), and bang the blues away. Around here the bats LOVE the beat...and I LOVE the bats...they eat bad bugs.

ARGH!

If your husband has at least one friend who has a piece of driftwood ratteling around his cranium for brains, you need not feel alone: It is official. There ARE brain dead people in the world...zombies will take us all!

Well, not me or those of you wise enough to see these stumps for the forest. I think the funny part is my husband knows this guy is really pebble-headed but finds enough memories of "the good ole days" to remain friends. Guy friendships are so NOT like chick friendships: My high school friend who lost her virginity in her car and only unzipped not took her clothes off- not a friend anymore. The friend who made out at my wedding- not a friend any more. The one who paraded around in front of a guy I liked in her undies just because she thought she was prettier than me(she wasn't)- not a friend. EEK!

So to the brain dead I salute you- The Great Pumpkin knows that your stupidity leaves me always something to say, with a a brand new tale to tell...

To the husband's driftwood cronies and to the intimate but clothed, savage bridal fellers, and the exhibitionists, I'll rat on you. I'm a social cheese eater...and no one's safe...MUWAAHAAH!
